Christine Widdall

About Christine

Christine was brought up taking pictures and processing them in a darkroom from a very early age. The excitement of taking and processing images has never diminished. Photography is now a major part of her life as an exhibitor and judge to international level and a Past President of the Lancashire and Cheshire Photographic Union.

She is a member and several times President of Oldham Photographic Society, one of the oldest Victorian-founded photographic societies that has met continuously since 1867. Her book on the history of the society, set in context of the rise of Oldham to becoming a major cotton town, is entitled “A Victorian Society” and is available from Amazon.

Christine’s aim is very simple – to try to capture places, people and moments in time and make them as beautiful interesting as possible, frequently creating montage images which add to or create a story or illusion. In recent years, Christine has added nature photography to her portfolio and with a special interest in macro and insect photography.
