Welcome to the PermaJet Paper of the Month

Each month our Head of Direct Sales, Alex Cullen, will be showcasing a paper from the PermaJet range. Alex will tell you what he likes about the paper and what images work well with it to give you a chance to try it out for yourself. Don't miss the Paper of the Month Special Offer pricing at the bottom of the page!

Oyster 271 is one of our most popular products and has been awarded Best Professional Paper on three occasions by The Society of Wedding and Portrait Photographers. Many of our customers use Oyster as their go to paper, as it is inexpensive and the quality speaks for itself.

Oyster is a microporous paper with a bright white surface that really shows off highlights. It is a fantastic choice as the lustre surface really accentuates images and is subtle enough to work with most subjects.

I would usually advise what would work on the chosen Paper of the Month, but as already mentioned – it is a good general purpose paper.

The image here was taken in Cambodia. It is a reflective view of one of the many beautiful temples that can be found there.

I shot this on a small Ricoh rangefinder with Ektar 100 film. The reason I would choose Oyster 271 to print this is for the highlights and the ability the paper has to show up the reflections in the water. It is great for detail and really accentuates blacks – whilst retaining the colour in the water.
